Microsoft Puts the Boot on Forza Horizon 6 Leakers

Ooh, Wee gamers, Microsoft is coming at the leakers strong and for good reason. We are just a week away from the release of Forza Horizon 6. Of course, those leaks of FH 6 got into the hands of some “ambitious” gamers. However, that ambition comes with the consequences of a 9,999-year ban. Let’s break this information down.

How did the leak happen?

It was an accidental inside leak made by PlayGround Games, sh*t happens as the saying goes. It was unencrypted files that were uploaded through Steam. This fully playable 155 GB pre-build was the sort of treasure any gamer would want to get their hands on. You know those individuals who want that early access so badly. Those who can’t fight their own disease of the fomo decided to spread this around.

Here is the twist: Forza Horizon 6 is a live-service game. That means you will need an online connection to play. One would think that someone would be like, “nah, I can wait.” NOPE! Playground Games and Microsoft dropped that ban hammer harder than Thor smashed the Hulk across the continent. This is one of those bans that go on for 9,999 years. Le gasp, to say the least. The YouTuber posted their ban message on May 10, with the reason of cheating/unauthorized modding being given to them. The suspension will last 69,895,509 hours, or until the 31st December, 9999. So, that means their account isn’t coming back anytime soon. 

“Due to cheating/unallowed modding, you have been suspended,” it read. “This has to be a record of some kind. GG Playground Games,” the YouTuber added.

Final Thought:

If you have pre-ordered the game already, your spot is already secured, and you will be able to play early anyway. The risk is not worth and sadly, this gives fuel to companies that want to do live-service games for this reason. Be smart gamers and just wait, fight that Fomo to be first on the lot, especially those thirsty for the content. Forza Horizon 6 will drop on May 19th, but those who pre-order will get early access.
