The latest Xbox showcase featuring Metro 2039 first look gives gamers something to look forward to. 4A Games and Deeps silver gave gamers today a nice look into the next installment that shows a grim look into the new campaign. Players will now take control of the new protagonist, “The Stranger” who now faces a fascist regime in the post-apocalyptic Moscow. This is one of the darkest stories yet in the Metro series, as “The Stranger” seems to be fighting some internal demons as well as the outside world.
Take Heed to the Vicious World of Metro:

Like the previous games in the series, Metor 2039 will be a story-driven, single-player campaign in first person. Let’s get a quick look at the story.
After Metro Exodus expanded the scope of the series’ world, Metro 2039 will return to its roots in the Moscow Metro, going “back to the tunnels and leaning into what makes Metro, Metro,” according to Creative Director Andriy ‘mLs’ Shevchenko.
All the various independent factions that previously populated the Metro have now been united under a fascist dictatorship, led by a literal Fuhrer. You will play as The Stranger, “a recluse plagued by his violent nightmares, forced to undertake a harrowing journey back down to the Metro, a place he swore to never return,” as described by Co-Creative Director and Lead Audio Designer, Pawel Ulmer. Notably, The Stranger will be the series’ first fully voiced lead protagonist.

Born with a Controller’s takeaway:

Metro 2039 has something good going with a gritty story and an amazing first-person experience. Previous games showed they know what they are doing, and I am personally banking on this one as well. The clip shown in the showcase was brief, but the devs will have something more later on. Stay tuned for more details as they develop and check back for more news. – Beast Out –
