Is Capcom winning 2026? I think so. Onimusha: The way of the sword hit a milestone of selling over one million copies. Being that it has been twenty years since the last title came out. This should show Capcom that fans love this series and it was long overdue for a return. I only played the demo and already have been hooked, but our writer Shadowjin already has been streaming the game. Honestly, you can see the evolution of the titles. But I will leave that breakdown until Shadowjin reports on his review.
Capcom’s Milestone:
So far, Capcom can’t miss this year with Monster Hunter Stories 3, Pragmata, Resident Evil: Requiem, and now Onimusha: Way of the Samurai. 4 major titles all bangers and I am only to assume all considered for awards at this years Game Awards. The demo alone gives you enough play time to make your purchase solid, but I did get some statistics from Capcom.

In addition to regularly releasing major new titles each year, Capcom is focusing on re-activating IPs that haven’t had a new title launch recently. The company is working to further maximize corporate value by leveraging its rich library of content, including this title.“
This is true because are getting a new Mega Man title called Mega Man: Dual Override showing that fans want a resurrection of old IPs. Now granted, I know some revivals didn’t work out so well like Bionic Commando 2009, but Rearmed did well. So far with two new Ips, one sequel and a great reboot.
