Disclaimer: I want to be clear; this is just a first impression of a new game that is dropping soon. My opinion should not be used to sway your opinion or cause any type of rage bait. I welcome all criticism and opinions, but do not expect me to attack what you say. We will disagree, but that does not mean that I will engage in the bait or trolling. You like it, you like it, you don’t, you don’t. It’s all good at the end of the day. Aight, let’s kick this off!
The Modern Warfare 4 Beta is over, now what?

This is one of those moments where you ask, “Is COD MW 4 worth my time?” For me personally, I enjoyed it. The pacing was nice, and of course they gave us Double XP in the second weekend to reach level 30 faster. I am what you call a rusher, but not in a conventional sense; I am still learning. I don’t use SMGs or shotguns, which would be the ideal build for a rusher. That’s from experience, but I use an LMG and, at times, shotguns. However, I also feel it depends on the modes you play, which are as follows.
- Team Deathmatch: Classic team-based elimination.
- Domination: Capture and hold designated flags on the map.
- Hardpoint: Secure and defend the shifting rotating zone.
- Kill Confirmed: Collect dog tags dropped by eliminated players.
- Free-for-All: Every player fights for themselves.
- Counter Attack (New): A fresh tactical mode focusing on shifting momentum.
- Inflation (New): A high-stakes mode where kills earn cash, and the first team to hit the money goal wins.
- Hijack (New): Teams try to plant a data spike on the enemy’s communications array.
Keep in mind this is just some of the modes. Others are more round-based or large-scale games like Ground War. Also fun modes like Gun Game and Drop Zone, which you can learn a lot quickly. But again, my favorites were Inflation, which they say is new, but it is another version of Plunder. My setup is tactical with auto vaulting, but it takes some getting used to, especially with sprinting always on, so learn how to ease into areas without going full throttle. As I said, I have unconventional methods as a rusher. Running with an LMG is risky, but manageable.
MW4 Gameplay stays the same:

Since it felt familiar, I was relaxed with it. You still get your annoying hit markers of chasing someone down and lighting up their back with bullets. Only for them to turn around and take you out with two to three shots. The gunsmith was a bit glitched during the beta, where whatever I did to my gun would not stay saved before the next round. Figured the class was glitched, only sticking to the first build I did. It was annoying having to set up my gun each round, so hopefully that gets fixed in the final game. Take downs are still fun and a great risk-to-reward for doing them.
Speaking in terms of risk and rewards. The leveling system still rewards you if you lose or win; now the thing that has always been there is that the way you perform depends on how fast you level up. When I played with both TatooedGirlGamer and Vaquero777. They progressed faster than I did, even though we got victories. Their in-game performance had them level up faster, which makes sense. You perform well, you will get more XP.
A taste of the story:

This is the first time a Call of Duty Beta let us check out a taste of the campaign, at least in my experience. It is usually just the multiplayer, but this time the story takes place in Korea. Apparently, North Korea finally says, “The Hell with it!” and pulls a Red Dawn situation on South Korea and slides in an off-the-books manhunt by disavowed Captain Price. Ooooh, seems like we are diving into Tom Clancy territory with this one. Bit of an invasion with a dash of unsanctioned hunt. Oh yeah, this is going to be a good time for sure.
But during the campaign, you infiltrate a Nuclear facility that has been purposely sabotaged to melt down. Of course, things go south, and you have to run like a bat out of hell before it all goes off. It was intense; I almost drowned a few times, and then you had to do massive parkour while fighting enemies. That kind of adrenaline rush is welcome in any Call of Duty game.
Final Take from BWAC:
It was fun, but I am in no rush to get it day one. Right now the devs are cracking down on anyone selling or using cheat software or devices, as they should. Multiplayer doesn’t need that nonsense, and LAN parties are not much of a thing. Fairness in online lobbies needs to be handled properly. Campaign has always been my biggest selling point, and I am looking forward to how this will shape up, especially since the disappointment of part 3.
Also, you have to love the incentives the Beta gives you for reaching max level. Which is just simple bragging rights that you were part of the beta for when the full game drops. Certain incentives like continuing where you left off from the demo into the main game or beta vanities to use in the game are a plus. Pretty good for a first impression and looking forward to a future review of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 when it drops on October 23rd, 2026 on Xbox Series X/S, PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch 2. The Switch 2 getting Call of Duty is a big win, been so long.
Stay tuned for more updates and news as they develop. – Beast Out –
