Halo Campaign Evolved: Play Your Way Breakdown

Halo Campaign Evolved was shown off at Sunday’s Xbox Showcase with some tasty new features. The latest video shown above gives you all the juicy new and old things to enjoy your experience as a veteran player or someone new. Let’s break it down a bit.

Skulls Bring in the Fun:

The original Halo Combat Evolved didn’t feature the skulls until they were added into the collectors’ edition later on. Skulls are a fun addition to the franchise, bringing fun challenges and silly antics. My favorite is the birthday skull, nothing like popping a grunt’s head off and hearing the happy screams of “YAY” and confetti blasting everywhere. The best part about all that is getting the skulls using Parkour skills in hidden places.

Even better, adding 4-player co-op with your fellow spartans is always a good time. Again, I played Halo CE solo in 2001. Didn’t do co-op until Halo 2. Returning to where it all began and with added features. Its going to be a good time. We also got a gameplay reveal video as well.

3rd Person Skull Activated!

Relax spartans it is an option to go third person. The only time we had third-person was on vehicles, and the only time you saw the Chief was in Cutscenes. Again, an optional skull to change the perspective, which I might be using. I am looking for if they added the special Spartan abilities. They are special elites with super speed, agility, and, of course, strength. But the abilities came about in Halo Reach in multiplayer. Certain character animations I wanted to be added ever since Halo Legends dropped, and the episode “The Package” really showed what Spartans can do as depicted in the books. But, this will do.

Final Assessment:

If they are going to do a redo of the games, this is kind of the right direction. Modern controls that any reboot or remake needs. Expect the full game to drop on July 28th, 2026, and there are pre-order incentives with a collector’s edition for any Halo fan to enjoy. It will be available on Xbox Series X/S and PS5 as well as PC. But for those who have Xbox Game Pass, you will have day one access. Stay tuned for our full review and live stream when it drops in July. – Beast Out
