Life is Strange: Reunion Brings Max and Chloe Back Together in 2026

After nearly 11 years, the emotional heartbeat of the Life is Strange series is coming home.

Square Enix has officially announced Life is Strange: Reunion. This full-length narrative adventure reunites fan-favorite characters Max Caulfield and Chloe Price for the first time since the original game. Revealed during a livestream, the game is set to launch on March 26, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (via Steam & Microsoft Store).

Developed by Deck Nine Games, Reunion isn’t just a sequel. It’s a final chapter for two of the most iconic characters in modern storytelling games.

A Return to Caledon University

In Life is Strange: Reunion, players return to Caledon University, where Max now works as a photography teacher. What should have been a normal weekend turns into tragedy when Max returns to find the entire campus destroyed by a massive fire.

Students. Faculty. Friends. Gone.

Max survives only because her Rewind power from the original game reactivates, pulling her back through time via a selfie. Now, she has three days to uncover the truth behind the fire and prevent the disaster.

But saving the present comes at a cost.

Chloe Price Enters the Timeline

The biggest shock comes when Chloe Price suddenly appears at Caledon.

Her return is a direct consequence of the timeline merge at the end of Life is Strange: Double Exposure. Chloe is haunted by memories of a life she never lived, trapped between realities and slowly losing her grip on what’s real.

For the first time in the franchise, players will control both Max and Chloe, switching perspectives as the story unfolds.

Dual Gameplay Systems

Each character brings their own mechanics:

Max Caulfield

  • Rewind Time to undo and redo choices
  • Manipulate environments
  • Solve four-dimensional puzzles
  • Change conversations and outcomes

Chloe Price

  • Backtalk ability to verbally pressure suspects
  • Quick-witted dialogue
  • Access areas Max cannot
  • High-risk, emotional decisions

Together, their powers create a layered mystery driven by choice, consequence, and emotional weight.

A Finale for the Saga

Deck Nine describes Reunion as a true finale for Max and Chloe’s story. The game builds on the grounded, character-driven storytelling the series is known for, featuring meaningful choices that lead to multiple endings.

This is not a soft reboot.
This is closure.
