The day you picked up that Lancer for the first time was the beginning of an epic story. Gears of War E-Day is dropping on October 6th, 2026, exclusive to Xbox systems. I still remember the first day I experienced Gears of War during a screening of Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning. That was an amazing evening to check out the first Gears of War, and in that started a lore journey with novels and comic books. The Gears of War story was far deeper than the video games, and with the Prequel coming out soon. We get to see how it fully began with the first Emergence Day! That invasion set the mood for the series.
Gears of War: How it Began!
For those who have not played the first game, this one will be good for you. See the beginning of the brutality of the Locust horde taking over the Earth to conquer the surface. The best thing about being passionate about a series is seeing how it began. Before Marcus was in Jail and, seeing the carnage that drove many of us to take down Locust left and right. It is always that first attack that is most horrid, just as bad as seeing the aftermath when you find Maria in Gears One.
The beta we got to try out a few weeks back showed us what to expect, at least with the multiplayer. Movement has changed a lot, no longer the age of crotch running, which honestly looked bad on the knees. Some complained that the reload screen moved from the top right corner to right next to your character. Honestly, it’s better in my opinion, as you can see it clearly without looking up or away from the combat. Some of the changes feel a lot better, and looking forward to diving into leveling up your classes. Sadly, the Gnasher is still the main weapon to use in PVP.
Final thoughts:
The main story of Gears of War: E-Day is going to be the focus, and having 4-player co-op is going to make this a sweet experience.
