Monster Hunter Wilds Latest Update

Capcom is giving us an update on the future of Monster Hunter Wilds. It was funky at first because of some confusion about removing content, but this clears everything up. Certain content will be discontinued, and as stated, players who have already purchased the three listed bundles are in good standing. It’s going to be a swap, which is not a bad thing.

Out with the Old and in with the Affordable:

There will be three new bundles that Capcom has for you, new hunters, or those who didn’t take advantage of the old bundles.

  • Gold Edition: This includes the base game and the entire Cosmetic DLC Collection.
  • Cosmetic DLC Collection: This is for players who already own the base game. It includes all 10 cosmetic DLC packs (such as the Deluxe Pack and previous Festival of Accord packs) in one bundle.
  • Extras Cosmetic DLC Pack: This smaller pack contains select paid cosmetics that were previously only sold separately

I think this is a smart move before the next expansion drops next year of Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance in 2027. This is what gamers should expect when a game is out for a while, and in that we segway to the big announcement.

Permanent Price Drop!

“To make the game more accessible, Capcom is permanently reducing the price of the base game. While exact new dollar amounts have not been confirmed, the game currently sits at $69.99. This discount goes live on August 4, 2026, on all platforms.”

No price has been set yet, but stay tuned in August for further information on the price drop. Monster Hunter Wilds dropped in a year and a half ago, back in February of 2025. It paved the way for new hunters and gaming content with full crossplay. There is no cross-progression, but that’s okay.
