Pokémon Pokopia had a lovely Treehouse showcase yesterday on the Nintendo YouTube channel. Pokopia was first announced at an earlier Nintendo direct where players play as a Dido who takes human form and starts in a Valley to do some farming. If you played Stardew Valley, this genre would be familiar to many players. The added kick is that the world is filled with Pokémon that will help you build your world up. It is an interesting take on the concept.
Pokopia: A Whole New World to Create in:

Some players are already veterans of the world of Pokémon, and since using Pokémon is vital for building. Players are tasked to utilize the pocket monsters to plant veggies and water them with Squirtle. As well as Bulbasaur’s Leafage to make the wild grass grow. You can also use abilities to transform and navigate the world around you, like crossing water with Lapras’s Surf. Besides that, meeting new Pokémon will have a new task of gathering materials to create items and furniture, till the fields to grow delicious crops, build homes for the Pokémon you meet, and more. There’s so much to do!
A world you can share!

Pokopia will eventually have players build their own big home. Then invite over Pokémon or other players via local wireless or online, or even visitors who don’t have the game by using GameShare. That feature is interesting, which makes one think if they are invited, are they just previewing the world? Welp, there is an answer, no worries.

The main owner of Nintendo Switch 2 will host the session for 3 other players, which grants them access to play for free. Also, there is cross-gen support, which allows Switch 1 users to join the Switch 2 host; there are limitations.
- No Permanent Ownership: The shared game is only playable during the session.
- Content Restrictions: Game-shared sessions are typically restricted to a separate, co-op “Cloud Island” mode, where progress, items, or Pokémon do not transfer to the main story.
- Internet/Subs: A Nintendo Switch Online membership is generally required for online sharing.
Born with a Controller’s Final Thought:

The industry has been interesting for a minute, and now Pokémon Pokopia is doing a well-known genre that will cater to fans. Gamers who have played Animal Crossing, Stardew Valley, and Minecraft will feel at home with Pokopia. It is a cute game, and playing as a special Dido will add another notch to players’ Pokedex. Pokémon Pokopia will be released on March 5th, 2026, for the Switch 2 at $69.99.
